I have always been a bar soap guy… ALWAYS. Not only guy but advocate. I feel strongly when washing (especially) in the shower we should be using bar soap. Liquid/gel soap for showering/bathing feels adolescent and generic. That being said, I’m always on the lookout for new interesting bar soaps to try… so many products exist so it is a treat to often switch it up and get new bar’s in the rotation.
When my soaps arrived from my friends at Dr. Squatch I was excited! The focus is all-natural, all healthy, and for the man. The thing I loved right out of the gate is the various types of eccentric scents… we have everything from Cedar Citrus to Nautical Sage. Every bar has a unique ACCURATE smell (I have every scent)! Extra points here because we have all picked up soaps that smell NOTHING like what they are labeled as eh?
After using all the product I can gladly report that I’m a Squatch guy. All of the soaps are incredibly exfoliating… oatmeal, sand, coffee, and mint are some of the bases for this and I LOVE that. A strong exfoliate always goes the extra mile for me. I also like that all of the products have a featured ingredient: greek yogurt, IPA beer (cool right?), and coconut oil are prime examples. The washing lather is smooth, leaving the skin fresh and pampered. The creative scents leave the perfect post-wash trace that will please most importantly you among others. Based on the thousands of reviews on the site Pine Tar is the clear favorite and was also in my top three favorite bars (along with Bay Rum and Spearmint Basil Scrub).
I also want to touch on the humor of this brand… they have a specific fun type of angle/ personality and that alone makes me like it/want to know more. Take a look at the branding/website so you can see for yourself: https://drsquatch.com
I’m also not alone in my love for the soaps, they have impressively been featured in GQ, Esquire, Men’s Health, and Men’s Journal.
